Creative Living: Imagination, Intention, and Grand Hospitality
In March 2025, April Online featured my essay about creative living on their blog, a piece about exploring how imagination, intention, and hospitality intertwine in everyday life.
“Creative Living: Imagination, Intention, and Grand Hospitality” reflects on how beauty and welcome are both offered and received through the smallest of gestures and everyday practices.
“The Shangri-La is stunning because each square inch feels intentional, whimsical. The paper-flower tree with small note cards ready for guests to inscribe their initials. The dry ice sweeping over the table as a layered sponge cake is presented. The hospitality was grand not because of the size but because of the depth of intention and imagination. Just like my hospitality is grand, and yours can be too.”
It’s a gentle invitation to see how our everyday choices—what we notice, how we pause, the care we put into our surroundings—shape a richer, more creative life.
I hope these words inspire you to lean into the small acts of welcome and beauty that make life feel more whole. Feel free to share this essay with a friend who might appreciate its wisdom.
